Job summary

Avera Aberdeen Family Physicians is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to perform a variety of clinical lab tests and quality control. You will operate instrumentation, prepare reagents, and ensure accurate results while communicating findings to care teams.

Responsibilities include sample collection, workload management, and training new staff to maintain efficient operations. This role supports compassionate patient care within a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or transcript showing Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology degree.
• MLS/AMT/ASCP certification within 1 year.
• Proficiency in basic and complex clinical laboratory testing and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day operations of laboratory instrumentation and disciplines.
• Prepare reagents, calibrate equipment, and manage quality control.
• Communicate laboratory data to providers and departments in a timely manner.
• Collect samples and ensure proper handling, transport, and storage.
• Organize workload for efficient turnaround times and participate in staff training.
