Job summary

Indian Health Service is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to deliver vital diagnostic services to American Indian communities. You will perform routine and specialized testing across chemistry, microbiology, hematology, molecular diagnostics, immunology, and immunohematology with emphasis on accuracy and quality control.

You will collect and evaluate specimens, interpret results, troubleshoot issues, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards while supporting laboratory operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited program.
• Completion of an NAACLS-accredited MLS/CLS program or equivalent.
• One year of specialized experience performing standardized clinical laboratory testing and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized clinical laboratory testing across chemistry, microbiology, hematology, molecular diagnostics, immunology, and immunohematology.
• Interpret and verify test results, troubleshoot discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to ensure accuracy.
• Collect, prepare, and evaluate patient specimens with proper handling and documentation.
• Perform quality control, proficiency testing, instrument calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting in line with accreditation and regulatory standards.
