Indian Health Service is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to provide vital diagnostic services to American Indian communities. The role involves performing routine and specialized laboratory testing across chemistry, microbiology, hematology, molecular diagnostics, immunology, and immunohematology, with emphasis on accuracy and compliance.

You will collect and evaluate patient specimens, perform quality control, calibrations, and troubleshooting, and support QA and staff guidance.

Qualifications

• GS-07: 1 year specialized experience in standardized clinical lab testing.
• Graduate education or combination meeting minimum qualifications for GS-11.
• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science/medical technology with NAACLS accreditation or equivalent.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine and specialized lab testing across chemistry, microbiology, hematology, molecular diagnostics, immunology and immunohematology.
• Collect, prepare and evaluate patient specimens with proper handling and documentation.
• Perform quality control, proficiency testing, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting per standards.
• Support QA, procedure development, inventory management and provide technical guidance.

Formation

NAACLS-accredited MLS/CLS degree or equivalent

4-year MT program incl. 12 months clinical training

Bachelor's with 5 years related clinical lab experience
