Job summary

The Indian Health Service is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to deliver life-saving diagnostics for American Indian communities. You will perform a broad range of laboratory tests, interpret results, and ensure accuracy through quality control and compliance with federal standards.

This federal role requires dedication to patient care, meticulous specimen handling, and collaboration with laboratory staff across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and immunohematology.

Qualifications

• Experience performing routine and specialized clinical laboratory testing across chemistry, microbiology, hematology, immunology, and immunohematology.
• Ability to interpret test results, troubleshoot discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to ensure accuracy.
• Experience with quality control, proficiency testing, instrument calibration and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized clinical laboratory testing using manual and automated methodologies across multiple disciplines.
• Collect, prepare, and evaluate patient specimens with proper handling and documentation.
• Perform quality control, proficiency testing, equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Support laboratory operations through quality assurance, procedure development, inventory management, and staff guidance.
