Responsibilities:

• Perform complex medical laboratory tests for diagnosis and treatment of diseases, ensuring accurate results, maintaining instruments, and monitoring quality control and assurance programs.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, and manage special projects as assigned.

What You Will Do:

• Perform specimen processing and testing independently, including moderate and high complexity tests. Analyze and take responsibility for test results accuracy.
• Evaluate and recommend new methods, instrumentation, and technology based on customer needs, cost-benefit analysis, and revenue potential, and communicate findings to management.
• Ensure compliance with accrediting agencies and serve as a resource within and outside the department.
• Manage assigned projects from planning through execution, keeping management informed of progress and completing within deadlines.
• Practice quality control management, including running controls, evaluating data, documenting results, and taking corrective actions as needed. Communicate QC information to supervisors.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory equipment, demonstrating proactive problem-solving skills and knowing when to seek guidance.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

Licenses and Certifications:

• MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), MLT(ASCP), MLT(HEW). Certification is waived for candidates with over 10 years of laboratory experience.
