Beacon Health System in Indiana seeks a Medical Lab Scientist to independently perform waived to high-complexity testing across assigned sections, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with procedures and regulatory requirements. You will evaluate specimens, QC data, instrumentation, and patient results to support diagnosis and patient care.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, CLIA qualifications, and MLS/MT certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or related field.
• Meets CLIA qualifications for moderate- and high-complexity testing.
• MLS/MT certification required at hire or within one year.
• Meets CLIA testing requirements under 42 CFR Part 493.
• Maintains licenses and certifications as required by law and policy.
• One year of related clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Performs laboratory tests, calculations, and analyses; reports results per procedures.
• Assesses specimen acceptability and manages collection, identification, processing, and storage.
• Recognizes critical or abnormal results and escalates as needed.
• Performs quality control, calibration, proficiency testing, and documentation; takes corrective action.
• Operates instruments and information systems; troubleshoots as needed to ensure timely testing.
• Maintains accurate records, logs, and documentation; ensures data integrity.
