Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hellertown is seeking a skilled professional to perform high and moderate complexity laboratory testing according to SOPs. You will operate advanced instrumentation, verify results, and support clinicians with interpretable data.

The role requires a CLIA high complexity eligibility and a bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related science, with certification preferred.

Qualifications

• CLIA high complexity testing eligibility required.
• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related science.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific information.
• Certification by a recognized certifying agency preferred (ASCP, ASMT, NCA).

Responsibilities

• Performs high, moderate, or waived tests per SOPs with independent judgment.
• Recognizes and corrects instrument malfunctions and records troubleshooting.
• Confirms, verifies and reports test results independently.
• Monitors results for reasonableness and critical values.
• Correlates and interprets data; assists physicians with results.
• Conducts quality control, CSI activities, and training of new staff.
• Prepares and collects specimens as needed.
