BayCare Health System in Florida seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist Coordinator to lead daily laboratory operations at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital in New Port Richey. You will drive high-quality diagnostic services, regulatory compliance and team development onsite.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Biological Science or related Clinical Science, 4 years of clinical lab experience, and a Florida CLT license. On-site schedule with weekend rotations supports BayCare's clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or related Clinical Science required.
• Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist license required.
• Minimum 4 years of clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead daily lab operations, including scheduling and supervision.
• Prioritize and oversee all phases of the laboratory process.
• Ensure adherence to laboratory policies, procedures and quality standards.
• Oversee quality assurance and quality management programs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and proficiency testing.
• Lead staff education, training and competency validation.
• Mentor and support laboratory team members.
• Assist with data collection to monitor performance.

Location: Morton Plant North Bay Hospital, New Port Richey, FL.

Facility: BayCare Health System, Laboratory Services – BRMC.

Shift: 630am - 3:00pm.

Schedule: Fulltime | Onsite.

Weekend Work: Every 3rd Weekend.

Role Overview

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist Coordinator, you will lead daily laboratory operations while ensuring high-quality diagnostic services, regulatory compliance, and team development.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Coordinating and leading daily laboratory operations, including scheduling and supervisory responsibilities
• Prioritizing, delegating, and overseeing all phases of the laboratory process
• Ensuring adherence to all laboratory policies, procedures, and quality standards
• Overseeing quality assurance and quality management programs and addressing process deviations
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and system-wide requirements, including proficiency testing
• Leading staff education, training, and competency validation
• Serving as a mentor, trainer, and resource for laboratory team members
• Assisting with data collection and monitoring to support laboratory performance goals
• Supporting operational leadership responsibilities in the absence of a manager or supervisor

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science OR a related Clinical Science field

Experience

Required:

• 4 Years of Clinical laboratory experience

Licensure / Certification

Required:

• State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
