Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist Coordinator at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital in New Port Richey, FL. The role leads daily laboratory operations, ensures quality, regulatory compliance, and staff development to support high-quality patient care.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or related field. The position is fulltime and onsite, with weekend work every third weekend.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist License is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead daily laboratory operations and scheduling.
• Oversee all phases of the laboratory process and assign tasks.
• Ensure adherence to laboratory policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Monitor quality assurance programs and address deviations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and proficiency testing.
• Mentor and train laboratory staff and validate competencies.
• Serve as a resource for team members and assist with data collection.

Shift: 630am - 3:00pm

Schedule: Fulltime | Onsite

Role Overview

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist Coordinator , you will lead daily laboratory operations while ensuring high-quality diagnostic services, regulatory compliance, and team development.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating and leading daily laboratory operations, including scheduling and supervisory responsibilities
• Prioritizing, delegating, and overseeing all phases of the laboratory process
• Ensuring adherence to all laboratory policies, procedures, and quality standards
• Overseeing quality assurance and quality management programs and addressing process deviations
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and system-wide requirements, including proficiency testing
• Leading staff education, training, and competency validation
• Serving as a mentor, trainer, and resource for laboratory team members
• Assisting with data collection and monitoring to support laboratory performance goals
• Supporting operational leadership responsibilities in the absence of a manager or supervisor

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science OR a related Clinical Science field

Experience

Required:

• 4 Years of Clinical laboratory experience

Licensure / Certification

Required:

• State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
