Job summary

BayCare Health System in Plant City, FL, is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist Coordinator to lead daily laboratory operations at South Florida Baptist Hospital. This onsite role supports regulatory compliance and staff development, with a focus on quality and efficiency.

The Coordinator will oversee scheduling, supervision, and process improvements while ensuring high standards in all laboratory activities and proficiency testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or related Clinical Science field.
• 4 years of clinical laboratory experience.
• State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist License.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and leading daily laboratory operations, including scheduling and supervisory responsibilities.
• Prioritizing, delegating, and overseeing all phases of the laboratory process.
• Ensuring adherence to laboratory policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Overseeing quality assurance and quality management programs and addressing process deviations.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and system-wide requirements, including proficiency testing.
• Leading staff education, training, and competency validation.
• Serving as a mentor, trainer, and resource for laboratory team members.
• Assisting with data collection and monitoring to support laboratory performance goals.
• Supporting operational leadership responsibilities in the absence of a manager or supervisor.]

Facility: BayCare Health System, Laboratory Services – BRMC

Shift: 4:30pm - 6:00am

Schedule: Fulltime | Onsite

Weekend Work: Every Other Weekend
