Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our RIA team in Burlington, NC. The position follows a Sunday-Thursday schedule, 8:00am-4:30pm, and offers full training for new grads.

You will determine specimen acceptability, perform routine and complex tests, monitor instrumentation, and help with reagent evaluation to support quality patient care. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience (preferred).
• ASCP or AMT certification (preferred).
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Flexible to work overtime or other shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
