Job summary

LabCorp in Burlington, NC is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our clinical team. You will perform routine technical procedures, operate instrumentation and ensure accurate test results to support patient care.

New grads are welcome and receive full training. The position is scheduled Monday–Friday, 2:00pm–10:30pm. A Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological sciences is required, with ASCP/AMT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience; ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Willingness to pass a color vision test and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow PPE guidelines.
