Job summary

Labcorp in Burlington, NC is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our team. The position supports processing and testing of specimens with a Tuesday–Saturday, overnight schedule (12:30am–9:00am). The role emphasizes high attention to detail, accurate reporting, and adherence to SOPs in a fast-paced clinical lab environment.

New grads are welcome and full training is provided. ASCP/AMT certification and familiarity with laboratory information systems are preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
New grads welcome & full training provided.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
