Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our team in St. Paul, MN. Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 3pm-11:30pm.

New grads welcome—full training provided. You will determine specimen acceptability, perform routine and complex procedures, monitor instruments and ensure accurate test results to support patient care. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or medical technology, with preferred ASCP/AMT certification.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
Proficient with computers.
Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS).
Ability to work independently and in a team.
High attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills.
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to SOPs.
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
