Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our team in St. Paul, MN. The role focuses on specimen assessment, routine and complex testing, and instrument troubleshooting to deliver accurate patient results.

You will work in a fast-paced clinical lab environment, uphold quality control, and collaborate with teammates to support daily operations and safe work practices. Pay starts at $21.00–$23.00 per hour with additional shift differential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.

Work Schedule

Tues - Saturday, 3pm-11:30pm

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving

• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• ASCP or AMT certification

• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
• Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour plus shift differential

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
