Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our Raritan, NJ team. The role supports processing and testing of specimens, with training provided for new graduates. The schedule includes Monday, Wednesday, Saturday shifts from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, with ASCP/AMT certification preferred and a readiness to work independently and in a team. Extensive benefits and career growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• Candidate may have ASCP or AMT certification as preferred.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Proficiency with computers; experience with laboratory information systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
