Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our team in Itasca, IL. This entry-level role offers comprehensive training and a path to professional certification, with a rotating schedule and opportunities to work with state-of-the-art instrumentation.

Responsibilities include specimen acceptability, routine and complex testing, instrument maintenance and data reporting to support quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience ASCP or AMT certification
• Understanding of laboratory operations and CLIA standards

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures per SOPs
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation for proper functionality
• Make technical testing decisions and resolve problems
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care
