Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee for the St. Paul, MN area. New grads welcome; full training provided. The role involves receiving specimens, evaluating orders, and ensuring accurate processing with adherence to SOPs and quality controls.

Schedule is Tue-Sat, 3pm–11:30pm with potential overtime. Pay range is $21.00–$23.00 per hour plus shift differential, plus comprehensive benefits. A bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or medical technology is required.

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee join our team in St. Paul, MN.

Work Schedule:

Tuesday - Saturday, 3pm – 11:30 pm, some overtime is required

New Grads Welcome – Full Training Provided

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Receive specimens for testing
• evaluate specimens and test orders
• determine priority of work and batches to maintain acceptable turn-around-time
• recognize unacceptable and unusual specimens and handle appropriately
• Adhere to SOP while performing extractions and analysis on client samples, quality control samples and proficiency samples
• Prepare laboratory reagents and standard solutions according to SOP
• Evaluate raw and final data for accuracy
• recognize and correct errors and unusual results
• interpret result to produce a final report
• use GDP in all documentation
• Maintain, calibrate and clean instrumentation
• perform scheduled/routine maintenance and critical function checks
• recognize significant changes in instrument function
• troubleshoot as indicated
• Follow quality control rules
• monitor controls for error detection and take corrective action
• maintain laboratory records, maintenance logs, quality control logs, reagent and standard logs, and worksheets

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology

Preferred Qualification:

• Current or prior Labcorp experience 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards:

• Proficient with computers
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Pay Range:

$21.00 - $23.00 per hour plus shift differential

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Benefits:

• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
