Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or clinical lab science is required.
• NAACLS-accredited MLS program completion preferred.
• Certification as MT/MLS preferred; state license as required.
• BLS certification preferred.
• Hospital or diagnostic lab experience; high-complexity testing experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood banking, and urinalysis.
• Analyze and interpret test results for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Review and verify patient specimens before testing.
• Enter data into LIS and maintain laboratory records.
• Assist in quality assurance programs, including proficiency testing.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure accurate results.
• Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and processing as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area following infection control protocols.
• Participate in continuing education to stay updated on laboratory technology advances.
