Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, AL is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to perform routine and complex testing across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and blood banking. The role supports accurate diagnostics by ensuring quality control and proper data entry into the LIS.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or CLIA-compliant field, and ASCP/AAB/AMT certifications are preferred.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or clinical lab science is required.
• NAACLS-accredited MLS program completion preferred.
• Certification as MT/MLS preferred; state license as required.
• BLS certification preferred.
• Hospital or diagnostic lab experience; high-complexity testing experience helpful.

Responsabilidades

• Perform tests in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood banking, and urinalysis.
• Analyze and interpret test results for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Review and verify patient specimens before testing.
• Enter data into LIS and maintain laboratory records.
• Assist in quality assurance programs, including proficiency testing.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure accurate results.
• Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and processing as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area following infection control protocols.
• Participate in continuing education to stay updated on laboratory technology advances.
