Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field required.
• Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Medical Laboratory Science program preferred.
• Certification as MT/MLS by ASCP/AAB/AMT preferred; state license required.
• BLS certification preferred.
• Clinical laboratory experience in hospital or diagnostic lab setting preferred.
• Experience with high-complexity testing and quality control procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood banking, and urinalysis.
• Analyze, validate, and interpret test results to ensure diagnostic accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Perform equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting per protocols.
• Review and verify patient specimens before testing.
• Maintain LIS data entry and laboratory records with accuracy.
• Assist in quality assurance programs, including proficiency testing and equipment validation.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to provide accurate results and address diagnostic concerns.
• Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and sample processing as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area with infection control and safety adherence.
• Participate in continuing education to stay updated on laboratory technology advancements.
