Job summary

Kingman Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform patient and proficiency testing with quality control, calibrations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory technology and MLS (ASCP) or equivalent within 1 year of hire; minimum 1 year hospital lab experience; ability to handle STAT orders and distinguish colors. This is a safety-sensitive, on-site role in the Laboratory Services department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related clinical science field.
• MLS (ASCP), AMT, AAB or NCA certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Test procedures are correctly executed and performed without errors according to policy and procedure.
• Maintains records demonstrating proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Adheres to quality control policies; documents instrument calibrations and maintenance.
• Follows remedial action if test systems are out of specification and documents.
• Identifies problems affecting test performance and notifies on-site leadership.
• Performs preventive maintenance and QC functions within required time frames.
• Completes procedures during shifts and coordinates tests during STAT orders when needed.
• May act as on-site supervisor in absence of technical leadership.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
