Job summary

Catholic Medical Center is seeking a Medical Technologist to join our clinical laboratory team. You will perform a variety of lab tests, maintain specimen integrity, and uphold quality control standards while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.

The role includes training staff, participating in quality improvement, and acting as a technical resource for the lab. A Bachelor’s degree is required, with MT experience preferred and MLS/ASCP certification or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree from accredited four-year college or university.
• Minimum of one year MT experience preferred.
• MLS (ASCP) CM or MT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred; must obtain certification within one year of employment.
• MLS (ASCP) CM MUST be valid and renewed upon expiration to retain employment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize professional judgment in interpretations of clinical lab results and respond to unusual situations.
• Perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests according to written procedures and maintain specimen integrity.
• Adhere to quality control policies to guarantee data reliability and maintain control records.
• Coordinate quality assurance and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Train and orient Medical Technologists and Medical Laboratory Technicians including students.
