Job summary

West Tennessee Healthcare is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to perform and report laboratory tests accurately in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires a CLS degree (ASCP/ equivalent) and active Tennessee licensure within six months of hire, with ongoing CE requirements. You will work under supervision, ensure quality control, and support patient care through timely results and instrument maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from NACCLS-approved program.
• MT/CLS (ASCP) or equivalent.
• Must obtain TN State License within six months of hire.
• Knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Ability to work within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs and determines the accuracy of routine and special laboratory tests in designated sections.
• Evaluates and reports test results per applicable procedures.
• Operates, calibrates, and maintains laboratory instruments.
• Instructs MLT students and new personnel as assigned.
• Obtains specimens from patients for procedures.
• Maintains records and performs preventive maintenance activities.
