Job summary

West Tennessee Healthcare in Paris, TN, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform routine and specialty tests, report results, and maintain instrument QC under supervision. The role supports patient care with timely data and adherence to lab procedures.

The position requires an Associate’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (NACCLS approved) and MLT (ASCP) or equivalent, with TN licensure within six months. Will train for required hazardous waste handling.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from a NACCLS approved program or equivalent.
• MLT (ASCP) or equivalent licensure.
• Must obtain TN State License within six months of hire.
• Maintain State of TN licensure by CE hours (min 12 annually).

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and special laboratory tests in designated areas of the laboratory.
• Evaluates and reports test results as instructed by procedure.
• Performs reagent and instrument quality control and records results; reports issues to supervisor.
• Performs and maintains preventive maintenance on assigned instruments.
• Inventories, receives, and stores supplies for assigned areas.
• Obtains specimens from patients for laboratory procedures.
• Contributes to a positive work climate and team effort.
• RCRA Hazardous Waste Management certification provided for hazardous waste handling.
