Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a laboratory professional to perform routine and complex analyses on clinical specimens, ensuring accuracy and quality of results. The role includes instrumentation oversight, mentoring staff, and acting as a consultant to clinicians.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in an ASCP-eligible program, with PA location exceptions and NY requirements described in qualifications. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ASCP eligible program.
• MLS, MT, or Specialty ASCP Certification required within 1 year for PA locations; NY requires Clinical Laboratory Technologist within 6 months for new grads.
• Preferred: 1-2 years of clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex procedures to provide quality clinical information.
• Operates, calibrates, checks, and maintains instrumentation; addresses QC issues.
• Provides oversight and mentors ALT, MLT, phlebotomists, students, and new staff in laboratory testing.
• Serves as a consultant to medical laboratory technicians and phlebotomists; engages in continuing education.
• May collect and process patient specimens in line with policies and timeframes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
