Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a laboratory professional to perform routine and complex analyses on clinical specimens across multiple sections, ensuring accuracy and quality of results.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (ASCP eligible) with PA certification within 1 year; NY requirements apply for New York applicants. Mentorship, quality control, and ongoing education are part of the position.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in ASCP eligible program.
• If located in Pennsylvania: MLS, MT, Categorical or Specialty ASCP Certification, required within 1 year of hire.
• If located in New York: Clinical Laboratory Technologist required within 6 months of hire.
• Preferred 1 to 2 year's clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine and complex procedures using established criteria to provide quality clinical information.
• Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and linearity for test methods.
• Operates, calibrates, checks, and maintains instrumentation and addresses QC issues.
• Provides oversight and mentors ALT, MLT, phlebotomists, students, and new employees in laboratory testing.
• Serves as a consultant to medical laboratory staff and participates in continuing education.
