Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a laboratory professional to independently perform routine and highly complex analyses on clinical specimens. You will verify analytic accuracy and support quality control across sections of the lab.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in an ASCP eligible program; PA location requires ASCP certification within 1 year of hire, with 1–2 years of experience preferred. You will mentor ALT/MLT and students and provide consultation to the medical team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an ASCP eligible program.
• ASCP certification within 1 year of hire for PA location.
• Preferred 1–2 years of clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex procedures to provide quality clinical information.
• Operates, calibrates, checks, and maintains instrumentation and QC.
• Provides oversight and mentors ALT/MLT, phlebotomists and students.
• Serves as a consultant to medical laboratory professionals and providers.
• May collect and process patient specimens per policies and timelines.
