Job summary

UofL Health, Inc. is seeking a Medical Technologist for the Mary and Elizabeth Hospital laboratory in Louisville, KY, to perform hematology, chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, microscopy, and throat cultures.

The 6a-6p shift supports in-house testing and coordination with reference labs. The ideal candidate holds ASCP/NCA/AMT MT certification or CLIA compliance, a bachelor’s degree in a biological or chemical science, and experience with EHR systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology.
• ASCP/NCA/AMT Medical Technologist certification or CLIA-compliant equivalent.
• Experience with EHR systems preferred.
• Strong analytical and procedural skills required.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens and perform hematology, chemistry, and microbiology testing in-house.
• Prepare specimens for reference laboratory and communicate results with providers.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments; perform QA and proficiency testing.
• Ensure CLIA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality; document QA activities.
