Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Laboratory Medical Technologist to join a busy hospital laboratory. You will perform blood bank procedures, chemistry, hematology and microbiology tests, using LIS systems and adhering to quality controls.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Biological Science and ASCP generalist certification or eligibility. 0–1 year of related experience is typical. The position is full-time, on-site, with competitive hourly pay in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Biological Science.
• ASCP certified generalist or categorical Technologist or equivalent with eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Perform Blood Bank procedures for safe issuing of blood, including cross matches and type/screen.
• Perform automated and manual Chemistry procedures and blood gas testing.
• Perform Hematology procedures and CBCs with differentials, body fluid analysis.
• Perform Microbiology tests including PCR, cultures, susceptibilities and gram stains.
• Maintain LIS usage and participate in quality control/quality assurance tasks.
• Promote continued education, communicate with staff, and assist supervisor as needed.
• Support training and onboarding of new employees.
