Qualifications

• Associates degree in ASCP eligible program or equivalent; ongoing education requirements for certification.
• Clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Medical Laboratory Technician or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex procedures to provide quality clinical information.
• Operates, calibrates, checks and maintains instrumentation.
• Recognizes problems with quality control and test procedures and takes action to ensure accuracy.
• Keeps updated with current technologies and changes.
• May collect and process patient specimens within expected time frames.
• Maintains clean work area and adequate supplies for lab operations.
• Mentors MT/MLT, phlebotomy, and lab processor students and new employees in testing.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
