Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician to perform and analyze tests across hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, and microbiology. The role emphasizes quality control, equipment maintenance, and timely result reporting.

The position involves specimen collection, troubleshooting instrumentation, and training new partners and students in a collaborative hospital setting. 40 hours weekly, daytime schedule in Illinois.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in medical laboratory science or military equivalent and qualified for high complexity testing per CLIA 493.1489.
• MLT certification within one year of hire or by the stated CLIA deadline.

Responsibilities

• Perform and analyze tests in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, and microbiology.
• Maintain QC procedures, troubleshoot instrumentation, and ensure timely results.
• Collect specimens and document results and quality control activities.
• Assist with training of new partners and students.
