Job summary

Mercyhealth Wisconsin and Illinois is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform specimen collection and a wide range of laboratory testing across hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, and microbiology. The role includes quality control, troubleshooting, instrument maintenance, and training new partners and students.

The position is full time (40 hours) with days and a variable shift. Certification in MLT within one year of hire is required along with CLIA high complexity

Qualifications

• Associate degree in medical laboratory science or military equivalent.
• Must be qualified to perform high complexity testing per CLIA 493.1489.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient specimens.
• Perform laboratory tests across hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, and microbiology.
• Ensure accurate and timely results with quality control.
• Analyze results prior to chart release for validity.
• Maintain instrument calibration and preventive maintenance.
• Assist in training new partners and students.

Education
