Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician for a 1st shift at 60135 WI ACL Laboratories - AMC Summit. This full-time role involves performing, evaluating and monitoring laboratory tests within established protocols, with 40 hours weekly and a rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s Degree in Clinical Lab Technician or related field and must obtain MLT certification (ASCP BOC or AMT) within 1 year, with strong communication skills and

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests within established protocols and adjusts workflow to complete work timely.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and follows reporting policies.
• Performs calibration and maintenance of instruments and quality control procedures.
• Recognizes instrument or test issues and initiates corrective actions or notifies appropriate personnel.
• Collects specimens from newborn to adult patients following established protocols.
• Provides technical assistance to phlebotomists and support staff.
• Supports quality improvement and compliance with accrediting standards.
