Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Medical Lab Technician for the Winston Campus Laboratory to ensure accurate and timely patient test results, following QC/QA procedures and safety standards. The role requires maintaining current certifications and contributing to efficient department operations.

First shift with rotating weekends/holidays, full-time schedule, and a path to clinical excellence within a major health system. Prior MLT experience and ASCP certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• Previous experience as a Medical Lab Technician preferred.
• MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures accuracy and timeliness of patient laboratory test results.
• Ensures quality of test results by following defined Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) procedures.
• Ensures safety and compliance.
• Maintains appropriate education to accomplish work objectives and maintain current certifications as applicable.
• Ensures productive and efficient operations of the section and department.
• Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
