Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a full-time first shift position in Alaska. You will perform and evaluate laboratory tests, ensure quality control, and maintain instruments while supporting critical care departments with timely results.

No prior experience is required; an Associate's Degree in Clinical Lab Technician or related field is required, with MLT certification to be obtained within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required in Clinical Lab Technician or related field.
• No prior experience required.
• MLT certification to be obtained within 1 year (ASCP BOC or AMT).

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols.
• Monitors workflow and adjusts to complete work in a timely manner.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance, validity and appropriateness.
• Follows prescribed policy in reporting and notification of test results.
• Performs calibration and maintenance of instruments and equipment.
• Performs quality control and corrective actions as needed.
