Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology, laboratory science, chemical, physical, or biological sciences with 4.5+ years of industry‑related experience with at least two years working in a clinical laboratory
• Master's Degree in medical technology, laboratory science, chemical, physical, or biological sciences with 2+ years of industry‑related experience with at least two years working in a clinical laboratory
• Current ASCP certification in molecular biology (CLS, MLS, MB, MT)
• Current CA State CGMBS or CLS license is required for roles in California

Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision to professional or skilled contributors
• Ensures production work meets department goals
• Administers company policies affecting subordinate employees
• Monitors adherence to SOPs and safety procedures
• Oversees training and development of staff
• Documents nonconformances and corrective actions when test systems deviate
• Escalates protocol deviations to lead/supervisor
• Collaborates with manager and HR on employee issues
• Leads shift meetings and discusses goals with team members
• Acts as go-to person when manager is absent
