Job summary

Mercy Health in Lorain, OH is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) for the Core Laboratory. This full-time role is scheduled for 36 weekly hours with evenings and nights, including rotating weekends and holidays. The MLS will perform routine tests on blood and body fluids, ensure accuracy, and provide quality results to clinicians.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science (or related field) with MLS certification (ASCP preferred) and has strong attention to patient safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field (CLIA approved)
• MLS certification required or eligible (ASCP preferred)

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical tests on biological specimens in a timely, accurate manner following procedures.
• Determine acceptability of specimens by visual inspection or abnormal results.
• Perform quality control and ensure results meet established ranges.
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment and troubleshoot equipment.
• Other duties as assigned
