Job summary

Mercy Health in Lorain Hospital seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician I (MLT) for the Core Laboratory. You will perform routine tests on blood and tissues, producing accurate results and maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.

Shift includes evenings and nights with weekends/holidays rotating. Requires MLT certification and 2 years’ experience preferred. Mercy Health offers competitive pay and benefits, plus ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Must have one of the following: AS in Medical Lab Technology, 60 semester hours (incl. chemistry & biology) and completion of an MLT program, or a 50‑week U.S. military medical laboratory training course.

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens accurately and timely per procedures.
• Determines specimen acceptability via visual checks and abnormal results.
• Maintains QC and ensures ranges are met before releasing results to physicians.
• Maintains a safe, clean work area and troubleshoots equipment as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
