Job summary

UC San Diego Health, McGrath Infusion Center is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to work in the Infusion Stat Laboratory. Under general supervision, the CLS performs a wide variety of laboratory tests by manual and automated methods, from specimen procurement through data analysis and reporting to support diagnostic and treatment decisions.

The position is outpatient stat and operates 7 days a week from 8am to 6pm, with two 10-hour shifts per week.

Qualifications

Must have CLS license issued by the State of California.
Graduation from college with a major in a relevant field.
Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties.
California license to perform chemistry and hematology.
2+ years of clinical laboratory experience.
Experience with Ortho Vitros.
Experience with Sysmex XN-L series.
Works well in a fast-paced environment, can multitask, and is a team player.
Adept in troubleshooting skills and a process improvement advocate.
Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Performs a wide variety of laboratory tests by manual methods or automated devices.
From specimen procurement through data analysis and reporting to support detection, diagnosis and treatment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
