Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to perform routine and complex procedures, manage quality control, and operate laboratory instruments. The role includes potential phlebotomy and patient-care tasks with strict adherence to regulatory standards.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in a laboratory science and appropriate certification; experience with a Laboratory Information System is preferred. Full-time, on-site schedule (6:30 AM - 3 PM) in Beaumont, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology, or equivalent training per CLIA 42CFR493.1489.
• Certification by ASCP/AMT/AAB/HHS or equivalent must be maintained if held; Louisiana licensure required for specific roles as noted.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures in assigned section.
• Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and coordinates with Biomed for equipment repairs.
• Cross-trains to other laboratory sections as needed.
• Adheres to quality control programs and document results.
• Calculates, enters, and verifies test results; communicates critical values.
• Uses the Laboratory Information System for data entry and reporting.
• Prepares patient specimens, ensuring appropriate volumes and handling.
• Contributes to development and implementation of new protocols and procedures.
