Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Beaumont seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform clinical testing in general, Blood Bank and Microbiology sections. You will ensure quality control, proficiency testing, and timely results while maintaining equipment and safety standards.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, labeling, testing, reporting, and adherence to CAP/CLIA/OSHA guidelines. Multiple shifts are available; full-time position with benefits and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher in clinical laboratory science or equivalent training per CLIA 42CFR493.1489.
• Military laboratory training course of at least 50 weeks duration and service as a medical laboratory specialist.
• 60 semester hours with required science/chemistry coursework or equivalent.
• ABHES/NAACLS accredited training or 3 months documented high-complexity testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Meets OneCHRISTUS leadership competencies and delivers service aligned with core values.
• Performs specimen collection, labeling, handling, and processing for testing.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment, performs QC and proficiency testing.
• Reports results timely, communicates critical values per policy, and ensures accuracy of testing across sections.
• Maintains LIS/HIS documentation and participates in competency assessments.
• Takes part in training new staff and upholds CAP, AABB, CLIA, JCAHO, OSHA standards.
