Job summary

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a chemical/physical/biological or clinical laboratory science.
Certification for MT/MLS/CLS/MLT from approved bodies and current certification.
Experience: 0 years for NAACLS-approved grads or 1 year in specified lab sections within last 5 years.

Responsibilities

Performs routine and complicated laboratory procedures in assigned section.
Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots lab instrumentation; performs minor repairs or notifies Bio-med as needed.
Cross-trains to other laboratory sections as needed.
Ensures the laboratory quality control program is properly followed.
Calculates, enters, and verifies results; uses the Laboratory Information System.
Notifies and documents critical laboratory values.
Processes patient specimens with attention to pediatric volumes when required.
Participates in evaluating and implementing new testing procedures.
Adheres to CHRISTUS Health CORE values and completes compliance tasks.
