Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to perform routine and complex procedures, process specimens, and report results in a state-of-the-art laboratory. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution or equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting CLIA 42CFR493.1489 requirements.
• Education evaluated by credentialing agency and deemed equivalent to US Bachelor’s degree in lab science or medical technology.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complicated laboratory procedures in the assigned section.
• Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Cross-trains to other laboratory sections as needed.
• Ensures the quality control program is properly followed.
• Calculates, enters, and verifies results; utilizes the Laboratory Information System.
