Job summary

AdventHealth Davenport, FL is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our clinical lab team. The role involves pre-analytical and analytical tasks, specimen handling, and accurate results reporting in a fast-paced setting.

You will help uphold quality and safety standards while supporting education for staff. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of hospital lab experience and a Bachelor’s in a relevant field, with strong English communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology.
• 2+ years clinical lab experience (preferred).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to operate and learn laboratory information systems and basic office software.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, inventory control, supply stocking, specimen collection, processing, cleaning and disinfection.
• Conducts post-analytical activities including reporting results and providing technical support.
• Completes tests and analytical procedures accurately according to SOPs.
• Participates in proficiency testing and adheres to regulatory requirements.
• Mentors and trains new staff, documenting appropriately.
• Supports staff and clinical teams with education and guidance.
