Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital in northern Minnesota invites a Clinical Lab Assistant to join our professional team. You will perform specimen collection, processing, and secure handling, and support point-of-care testing as appropriate.

The role requires phlebotomy training or experience, good interpersonal communication, and reliable attendance, with LIS/LIS systems data entry, order entry, and test scheduling.

Qualifications

• Completion of a phlebotomy training course or phlebotomy experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Experience in a health care related field preferred.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrate ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
• Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory specimen collection and processing.
• Provide for safe and secure specimen handling and point-of-care testing when appropriate.
• Enter order and collection information into the Laboratory Information System and associated subsystems.
• Schedule tests and procedures and provide results in the LIS/HIS and over the phone.
