Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant for the Woodward/Microbiology location. This hourly role requires working Saturday-Sunday 05:00–15:30 and may include holidays and other shifts as needed.

The candidate should be able to work independently with minimal supervision and perform multiple modalities within the lab. Successful applicants may start at CLA level, with progression based on modalities completed.

Qualifications

• Minimum education includes high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred certification: PBT (ASCP) or equivalent.
• Completion of relevant Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties professionally and courteously.
• Maintains supplies and inventory to support department functions.
• Observes students and new staff as needed.
• Demonstrates problem-solving skills to ensure patient care and service levels.
• Handles hospital communications and on-call responsibilities by location.
• Exhibits professional verbal communication with clients, patients and coworkers.
• Performs necessary clerical tasks, including documenting critical communications.
• Maintains confidentiality of information.
