Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence - East Campus Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Assistant II to perform routine technical and clerical duties, including phlebotomy and specimen handling. This full-time role offers opportunities to work with advanced technology in a supportive healthcare environment.

Responsibilities include specimen receipt, registration and billing, waived testing, and assisting microbiology processing.

Qualifications

Education must include high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: completion of a phlebotomy program.
Required: phlebotomy certification where state law requires.
Experience: 1 year of laboratory experience or completion of a phlebotomy training program.
Preferred: basic lab information system experience.

Responsibilities

Performs routine technical and clerical functions to include specimen registration and billing.
Performs specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens.
Performs phlebotomy duties as assigned.
Will perform waived testing, and assist in microbiology processing and plating specimens, as requested.
