Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, MT is seeking a Lab Aide I to perform phlebotomy, specimen processing, and basic client service tasks. You will collect blood samples, ensure proper labeling, and handle requisitions with accuracy.
Completion of phlebotomy and specimen processing competencies is required after 3 months, and basic client service competency after 1 year. Other duties may be assigned as needed to support patient care.
The Lab Aide I is responsible for completing and maintaining competency in phlebotomy, specimen processing, and basic client service tasks. As a phlebotomist, the expectation is to obtain blood samples from patients in a timely manner while following proper collection policy. Completion of phlebotomy competency will be required after 3 months of starting in this position. As a specimen processor, the aide will ensure appropriate labeling has occurred and handle specimen according to policy. Completion of Specimen processing competency will be required after 3 months of starting in this position. The basic client service tasks entail: requisition entry, requisition checks, and filing. Completion of basic client service competency will be required after 1 year of starting in this position. The Lab Aide I will also perform other duties as assigned.
