Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience in a general lab, specimen processing, or phlebotomy area.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with lab staff and providers to ensure excellent patient care.
• Receive specimens into the laboratory information system.
• Input and retrieve lab results in LIS or hospital system.
• Register specimen drop-offs and assure accurate data entry.
• Process specimens for transport to reference laboratories.
• Identify and solve problems with supervision as needed.
• Perform quality control and maintain instruments.
• Operate and maintain laboratory automation systems as appropriate.
• Perform diagnostic/analytic testing under supervision.
• Ensure proper testing is ordered and reference labs are correctly identified.
• Communicate rejections and critical results to clinical staff.
