Northwestern Medicine Cancer Center in Warrenville, IL, is hiring for a full-time lab position. The role involves receiving, processing and testing specimens, entering data into the LIS, and coordinating with main lab staff to ensure high-quality patient care.

Formación

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a general lab, specimen processing or phlebotomy area.
• Phlebotomy certification or training preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with the main lab staff, other ancillary departments, nurses and providers to ensure patient care.
• Receives specimens into the laboratory information system.
• Inputs and retrieves lab results in LIS or hospital computer system.
• Register specimen dropoffs in LIS, ensuring accurate data entry.
• Properly processes specimens for transport to reference laboratories.
• Distributes specimens to the appropriate testing area.
• Performs diagnostic/analytic testing of specimens and reports results to provider.
• Operates and maintains laboratory automation systems as appropriate.
• Performs waived and/or moderate complexity testing under supervision.
